My transmission has too much Fluid in it should i drain some?

i just changed my transmission Fluid and filled it with about four quarts of which completely filled it up then i added some lucas additive now it is up to the cross of crosshatch on the dipstick do i need to drain some or is it safe. if i do need to drain it is siphoning it out of the dipstick tube safe or should i just take off the pan again.
