Sarcasm and flirting with a guy, do they mix?

I was at a party lastnight and I met this guy, a bit older not that it matters really lol so we talked and I made fun of him a bit (jokingly) and he played along and was funny! It continued basically all night. I was flirting, subtly, and I hope he noticed that I was. Do guys get confused with funny/sarcastic girls? I crack jokes a lot but I was interested and I don't think he picked up on that
