I'm a single woman moving to south bend,Notre Dame,Indiana for a TA,how is it living there?

I'm moving to do my Teaching istantship in a university there I'm worried about the living style. I'm used to modern cities and metropolitans and i'm worried I wouldn't enjoy my time in Indiana and I won't get adapted easily. What do you think?should I reconsider? I'm 26 and single.
